Sarah Humphries, MSW, LSW

Licensed Social Worker

BIO

I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) in the State of Ohio. I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Social Work from The Ohio State University in 2022 and 2023. Following completion of my undergraduate degree, I became licensed and completed an internship in public schools as a Student Support Specialist, where I focused on the well-being and mental health of children ages 8–18, for two years. This early experience deepened my passion for supporting youth in navigating emotional and developmental challenges.

After earning my Master’s degree, I began working at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. In my role within fast-paced orthopedic surgery clinics, I supported patients and families as they navigated acute medical challenges, recovery, and the emotional stress that often accompanies injury and treatment. This work strengthened my ability to provide compassionate, goal-oriented, and grounded support during times of uncertainty. I worked as a medical social worker for three years before transitioning my work to private practice, and my current supervisor is Becki Encinas, MSW, LISW-S.

I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and families, and am especially passionate about supporting clients experiencing anxiety, stress, life transitions, and adjustment-related challenges. My approach is warm, collaborative, and strengths based. I believe that building a trusting, supportive relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth, and I strive to create a space where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

I draw from evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and solution-focused approaches to help clients build coping skills and confidence in navigating life’s challenges. What drives my work as a therapist is the opportunity to walk alongside clients as they discover their resilience and create meaningful change in their lives. I believe that growth is always possible, even during difficulty, and small steps can lead to powerful transformation.

"Growth is not about becoming someone new, but about uncovering the strength and wholeness that has always been within you."
