Which Approach Might Fit Me the Best?Therapy/Counseling is designed to help you explore and heal the emotional and psychological reasons that prevent you from achieving your goals, as well as provide tools to effectively deal with common challenges such as anxiety, sadness, and trauma. It offers an in-depth, comprehensive look at every aspect of your life with a focus on improving your emotional well-being and helping you create healthy relationships and a healthy self-image. If you have more questions about therapy, we recommend just scheduling an intake session- there is no obligation to keep coming to therapy after the first session and the best way to know if it will work for you is to give it a try. In contrast, our coaching, groups, and workshops are solely focused on developing and implementing a strategic plan for successful change in a specific area of your life.

How Often and How Long Will We Meet?Consistency brings the best results. Most counseling clients come weekly. It’s best to schedule a set time each week. Committing to and prioritizing that time is ideal and equates to a better outcome. Occasionally, people attend therapy more often and may come twice a week for a period of time. Others may have longer less frequent sessions. Many reduce counseling frequency once things improve and attend every other week then monthly to maintain gains. This will be determined with your therapist. Your first appointment/intake session will be approximately 55-60 minutes. Regular therapy sessions are approximately 55-60 minutes.

Do You Take Insurance?Center for Personal Wellness is an insurance friendly practice and can help clients utilize both their in-network and out-of-network insurance. In-Network Benefits: For clients using one of the insurances below, we accept the contracted rate for that insurance. We are happy to help you verify your benefits and will file claims on your behalf. We are in-network with the following insurance/EAP companies: Anthem BCBS, Medical Mutual, Tricare, Medicare, Behavioral Health Services, Ulliance EAP, CuraLinc EAP, Wilson Health EAP, and Mercer Health EAP. Out of Network Benefits: Your counseling services may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits. We have partnered with Mentaya to help our clients save money on therapy by using their out of network insurance benefits. If you have out-of-network benefits, Mentaya will file claims and handle the insurance paperwork to make sure you get reimbursed. They charge a 5% fee per claim and have helped people get thousands of dollars back per year; however we absorb that 5% and cover it for our clients.

What Happens if I Miss or Late Cancel an Appointment?Your appointment time is reserved just for you. A late cancellation or missed visit leaves a hole in the counselor’s day that could have been filled by another client. As such, we require a 24-hour notice for any cancellation or changes to your appointment. Clients who provide less than a 24-hour notice, or miss their appointment, will be charged a $100 cancellation fee to their credit card on file. Note that cancellation fees are an out-of-pocket expense not tied to insurance plans, EAP, etc.

Will I Have to Complete Paperwork?CPW is a paperless practice. After scheduling your appointment, our intake coordinator will set you up in our online portal. Through our secure and HIPPA compliant portal, you will complete all of your intake paperwork and have access to billing. This must be completed prior to your first appointment. This will allow your therapist to spend more time with you and less on paperwork and will additionally allow us to verify your insurance benefits if you are choosing to utilize them. Please fill out the intake forms at your earliest appointment. Your appointment time will not be final until your intake paperwork is completed. Sessions cannot start without intake form being completed.
