Taking part in counseling sessions involves a certain level of vulnerability. I offer a non-judgmental, caring environment for clients to grow more as a person and to become the best version of self.  Sometimes life happens and recognizing our own gifts is a challenge. Therapy is a great way to learn techniques and tools to help overcome personal challenges. My approach to counseling involves techniques in cognitive behavioral therapy, psycho-education and other techniques in order to assist one in living a life full of joy and happiness despite the “stuff” that comes along in life that can make it hard to find joy and happiness. Together, we can work toward finding the tools that can help one overcome personal challenges and live life to the fullest.

Through working as a school counselor, I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and families guiding them through difficult situations, life-changing decisions, and engaging positivity in society. I also feel a calling to work with populations who are facing the challenges that come with life after the retirement years, populations who are transitioning to “empty nesting”, or anyone, no matter age, who are in need of a listening ear to help assist in life’s journey.

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies. ~ Mother Teresa

Currently, I am a licensed school counselor and hold a counselor trainee (CT) license in mental health counseling as I continue coursework in pursuit as a licensed professional counselor (LPC). I have a bachelor’s degree in sociology with a minor in environmental policy and analysis through Bowling Green State University, an elementary education certificate through Wright State University-Lake and a master’s degree in school counseling through the University of Dayton. The additional coursework I am taking for my mental health license is mainly through the University of Dayton along with some coursework through Walden University.

In my free time I enjoy walking, bike riding, hiking, kayaking, and spending time with family and friends. I especially enjoy spending time watching my kids in their activities.
