Kathy McDevitt, MS, LPCC-S
Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor
I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor, with a supervisor endorsement. I received a Masters of Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wright State University in 2011. I received additional training from the Cincinnati Psychoanalytic Institute in their Advanced Psychotherapy Program (APP). This is a 2 year certification program comprised of a three tier program for clinicians designed to integrate multiple perspectives of psychoanalysis and psychoanalytic psychotherapy through didactic seminars in theory, technique and clinical case conference.
I enjoy working with a wide range of client populations, providing assessment, diagnosis and treatment of emotional, behavioral and mental health disorders for both adults, and children/adolescents. Some of the most common issues I have worked with are in the areas of trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral, anger issues, ADHD, grief, and dissociative disorders.
Healing takes time, and asking for help is a courageous step.
I offer compassionate, non-judgemental, professional care. Through psycho-education, development of positive coping and communication skills and evidence based treatment I help clients make positive, lasting life changes.
My clinical approaches mainly consist of, but are not limited to: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Trauma Focused Therapy, psychodynamic psychotherapy, and psycho-education for improving communication, work, and personal relationships.
